Burrowbridge Mump with Blackdown Hills beyound, the bulk of the rain affecting the Levels fell on the Blackdowns before making its way in to the Parrett, Yeo and Tone Rivers, dredging has become a hot political topic with the Environment Sectretary due to visit the area on Monday 27 Jan.
26 Jan 2014 The A361 - Not even a tractor can access this main route now, water levels are several feet deep at the churned up waves of floodwater beyond the sign. Look carefully and on the left a few hundred yards up, there are a number of businesses. Below is an image from a year earlier.

"oi got a brand new combine 'arvester and I combines the snow" Porlock Hill Snow Picture Down in Porlock on Weds 23 Jan, when there was a sudden snowstorm. Had to get to the top of Porlock Hill to check out the scene. - During A total whiteout a tractor suddenly appears to 'combine' the deep snow off the main A39 Porlock - Lynmouth Road shut to traffic, with only the odd nutter venturing out.

Porlock Hill snow February 2013 Eventually the A39 is cleared, leaving some funky snow sculptures. The 7 foot drifts were a picnic compared to 1963 where monster 21 foot drifts made this Somerset Devon gateway route the hardest hit A road in the country.

Well, here we all are on the picnic table dancing the new year in as that fat old yellow ball in the sky makes a rare apperance . Sally up front was still at it mid morning 1 Jan. Being a particularly obese pigeon she's pretty keen on shedding a few grams as her new years resolution for 2013. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
